Carers get pampered at Evolution hair and beauty salon
by Laura Salvage - Monday, 2 August 2010, 10:25 AM

Carers dayRedbridge College’s onsite hair and beauty salons offered a very special treat to carers across Barking and Dagenham last month by pampering them with a variety of beauty treatments. The carers were accompanied by Sue Bernie, Adult Services Manager, who explained that the carers come to the salon twice a year to aid students in achieving their assessments while taking some time out to relax.

Carers work full-time to care for a relative with a disability, none of them are paid and often don’t get any time to themselves. The Carers of Barking and Dagenham association therefore organise these pamper days at Evolution to give their carers a break and a chance to re-energize.

Sue said, “These carers would often never dream of taking a day off or taking a holiday but that’s why we organize these days and see them as very important.”

For more information on the Carers of Barking and Dagenham Association please call 020 8593 4422. For more information about Evolution Hair and Beauty Salons, visit http://www.redbridge-college.ac.uk/evolution-hair-and-beauty .
